Famed for the "Palio", the annual historic horse-race that take place on 2 July and 16 August, it is also home to one of the oldest Universities in Europe which gives the centre a vibrant, youthful, atmosphere. With countless restaurants, art galleries and boutique stores, Siena is the perfect destination for a full day out.
